THE DESIGNER

Olivia Watts was born and raised in Colombia, between Barranquilla and Bogota. After an initial two years studying visual arts, Olivia shifted her focus to fashion design, and in 2008 she received her degree in Fashion Design and Marketing at the ATC School, one of Colombia’s leading fashion schools. 

Olivia launched her fashion career initially as a make-up artist, a field in which she developed a well known reputation by collaborating with some of the most recognized photographers, stylists, magazines and designers, not only in Colombia but in her new home, New York City. Her work appeared in fashion magazines such as Vogue Mexico, WWD, and Brides, as well as on fashion runways and television.

 

In New York, Olivia complemented her fashion studies from Colombia with short courses at NYU and Parsons. Subsequently she joined French luxury group LVMH in a role that focused on corporate diversity and responsibility across the many fashion houses of LVMH. This experience helped lay the foundation in diversity and inclusiveness upon which the Olivia Watts brand is founded.

 

The events of the year 2020 unleashed seismic shifts in the lives of nearly everyone across the world. For Olivia, the changes opened the door for her to fulfill her dream of designing and launching her fashion brand. Assembling a team of the best professionals she had worked with throughout her career, Olivia conceived, designed and produced her initial capsule collection, Ineffable. Through Olivia’s ability to reimagine, to dream, to create, and to transform positively what surrounds her, Olivia Watts as a luxury fashion house was born.
